Less than 1% of the literature on El Salvador’s biodiversity is about terrestrial invertebrates, which limits our knowledge this group’s diversity, richness, and distribution in territory. Scarabaeoidea are megadiverse multiple ecosystems perform many functions. This work aims to catalog Salvador. We conducted an exhaustive review published reviewed numerous entomological collections with relevant material. Maps were constructed visualize known each species country. There 295 scarab beetle (including 19 new country records) representing 106 genera 7 families Six precinctive known. Twenty-two discarded as occurring Salvador, either because they not valid or misidentifications dubious records. first approach knowing a territory that usually considered no importance for conservation regional due its small area, high rate deforestation, overpopulation. The results reinforce need biological prospecting know, conserve, protect remaining biodiversity.
